Nelligan & Anderson / Wedding Invitation
| When I was handed the assignment to design a high-end, custom wedding invitation... I just decided to run with it. The invitation was hand assembled with foil stamping, letterpress and custom tag. The design was inspired by the intricate detail on the vintage dress the bride chose. | Role: Art Direction & Design Agency: Ellen Bruss Design |
Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver
| Every year, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver hosts a lecture series on "unrelated topics". Mixed Taste: Tag Team Lectures on Unrelated Topics is a lecture series that runs every summer. The rules are simple: The first speaker speaks for a half-hour, then the next speaker speaks on a completely unrelated topic for another half-hour, and then there is question and answer on both topics at the same time. During the first part of the program, speakers are not allowed to make connections between topics, during the question and answer, anything can happen. Every event sold out the day the tickets went on sale. | Role: Art Direction & Design Agency: Ellen Bruss Design Awards: Art Directors Club of Denver - Best of 2009 |
Super7 Magazine
| Super7 is a contemporary toys, art and design magazine centered on Japanese vinyl toys and the culture of the people who collect them–from painters, sculptors, rock stars and everyone in between. The intent of the design is to present the toys and their history in a manner that can appeal to everyone, not just the über nerd, while still managing to compliment the visuals and surreal aesthetics of the toys themselves. Over the last six years, the magazine has been so successful that it spawned a retail store in San Francisco and a line of designer toys. Aside from being the lead designer for Super7, I also interviewed many artists – including Tim Biskup, Camille Rose Garcia, Tara McPherson, Dalek, Jeremy Fish, David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim of Ugly Dolls. | Role: Art Direction & Design Agency: Hybrid Design |
Everything Else Magazine
| Everything Else was designed to fill those gaps that are found in the current magazine world of art, culture, fashion, film and design. It showcases artists that make us stop and think about what we are doing in our day to day lives, and how they influence us. The first issue featured internationally-recognized artists such as painter Jeremy Fish, photographer Alice Shaw, filmmaker George Kuchar and renaissance man, David Benzler. | Role: Art Direction & Design Agency: FUN is OK |
